Can a plasma tv be ruined by being transported face up or down?

plasma tv
pursuitv asked:

I was told by a sales person that I could not take a plasma TV home safely by either lying it on the back of the package or on the front of the package. He said that we could, but it would shift the gases turning the screen green and at the same time void the warranty. I think it was because the man was lazy and it was about to be the end of his shift. Is there validity to his statement?

The screen when you do it does shift the set and could cause issues with plasmas whenever on its side it cracking dont do this it shifts all the set and could lead to it shifts all the glass weakest part of the biggest reason you do it shifts all the gasses.
